9.2.6: Manage Infrastructure

This page shows the collection of processes that make up the Manage Infrastructure facility within the Manage Roadway M&C Activities function. These processes control and manage the automated roadway treatment functions and transportation infrastructure sensor equipment interface as well as resources to manage the traffic control devices that provide traffic rules and regulations to drivers.

The key points about the facility are:
- An automated roadway treatment system operates based on environmental sensors and under center control;
- Advisory messages to motorists are displayed on dynamic message signs to warn of ongoing roadway treatment or the environmental condition that required that treatment (e.g., icy roads);
- Infrastructure sensors located on the roadway and on the maintenance and construction vehicle are monitored and managed remotely.
- works with the manage traffic rules and regulations process to manage changes to traffic control devices (TCDs)

There are six processes defined as Process Specifications (Pspecs) in this collection:

1) Operate Roadway Automated Treatment System (9.2.6.1)
2) Control Roadway Automated Treatment System (9.2.6.2)
3) Operate Infrastructure Monitoring Devices (9.2.6.3)
4) Collect Infrastructure Data (9.2.6.4)
5) Collect Infrastructure Asset Data (9.2.6.5)
6) Manage Implementation of Traffic Regulations and Controls (9.2.6.6)
